Bigscale Soldierfish

These fish have large scales, a strongly projecting lower jaw, and white on the leading edges of the fins. When the dorsal fin is raised, it shows orange. It is the largest of the Hawaiian soldierfish, and the species was named after the inspector of the Honolulu Fish Market, Mr. E. Louis Berndt. They grow up to 11 inches.
